L'Orangerie - Year 1

I was given the task to design yearly program and lead the students for the non profit L’Orangerie dedicated to help inner city high schools discover design and craftsmanship beyond the classroom. I designed an after school program each year taking a group of students into each step of the design process from sketching, visual communication and challenging ideas to fabricate physical objects. I introduced the students to professional industrial designers, artists and exposed them to various crafts such as marqueterie, laser cutting, glass blowing and ceramic.

The first year we built a partnership with the New Design High School. Each student designed and fabricated his own planter made of blown glass and ceramic.
